The Directorate-General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics, under Taiwan's Executive Yuan, holds an unusually broad mandate: it prepares the central government budget, sets public accounting standards, and directs the entire national statistical system. As Taiwan's statistical authority it compiles the national accounts, censuses, employment and earnings statistics, and industry data for one of the world's key technology-manufacturing economies, with the Consumer Price Index and Producer Price Index among its benchmark monthly releases.
