This dataset provides quarterly information on the composition of official foreign exchange reserves held by IMF member countries. This includes information on how these reserves are distributed among different currencies: U.S. dollars, euro, Chinese renminbi, Japanese yen, pounds sterling, Australian dollars, Canadian dollars and other currencies. Allocated Reserves refer to data on foreign exchange reserves, reported under COFER and Unallocated Reserves is the difference between the total foreign exchange that currently report reserve assets data for the IFS but do not report to COFER. COFER data are reported to the IMF on a voluntary and confidential basis.
