Alphacast High Frequency CPI: Inflation was 0.83% WoW

Weekly inflation accelerated. Consumer prices rose 0.83% WoW, up from the prior week’s revised 0.60%. On a monthly basis, inflation increased to 2.7% MoM, while the annual rate held at 31% YoY.

During the reference week, core, regulated, and seasonal components also accelerated WoW. Core inflation came in at 1.04% WoW, above the revised 0.72% recorded the week before, and strengthened to 3.4% MoM on a monthly basis. Seasonal items rose 0.62% WoW (vs. a revised 0.51% previously), while their monthly pace increased to 2.2% MoM. Regulated prices rose 0.52% WoW, above the revised 0.41% previously observed, and their monthly pace was 1.5% MoM.
