Alphacast High Frequency CPI: Inflation was 0.47% WoW

Weekly inflation eased for a second consecutive week. Consumer prices rose 0.47% WoW, down from the previous week’s revised 0.71%. On a monthly basis, inflation was unchanged at 2.9% MoM, while the annual rate remained steady at 31% YoY.

Across components, core and seasonal inflation eased slightly on the week, while regulated prices drove the headline slowdown with a sharp deceleration. Core inflation came in at 0.53% WoW, down from the previous week’s revised 0.57%, and firmed to 3.5% MoM on a monthly basis. Seasonal items rose 0.33% WoW (vs. a revised 0.35% previously), while their monthly pace slowed to 2.2% MoM. Regulated prices increased 0.41% WoW, well below the revised 1.15% previously observed, and their monthly pace was 2.1% MoM.
