Alphacast High Frequency CPI: Inflation was 0.52% WoW
After jumping the week before, weekly inflation moderated notably. Consumer prices rose 0.52% WoW, down from the previous week’s revised 1.08%. On a monthly basis, inflation stood at 2.7% MoM, while the annual rate came in at 31% YoY.
Across components, core, seasonal, and regulated prices all decelerated on the week, driving the moderation in headline inflation. Core inflation came in at 0.57% WoW, down from the previous week’s revised 0.78%, while the monthly pace stood at 2.7% MoM. Seasonal items increased 0.58% WoW, below the previous week’s revised 0.79%, with a monthly rise of 1.9% MoM. Meanwhile, regulated prices rose 0.40% WoW, easing from the previous week’s revised 1.78%, while the monthly pace came in at 3.2% MoM.
